Councillors to discuss Carlow Town bus delay

There’s been a delay in the process of getting a town bus for Carlow.
Councillors have been told the process of tendering for the service now won’t be complete by March as had originally been promised.
They’re due to get a full update at today’s council meeting.
But Councillor Fergal Browne has told KCLR News it’s not all bad news. He says “they are making changes that should hopefully make it a quicker process afterwards.”
He adds “For example a new design & build process for bus stop infrastructure. And they have taken on board some of the comments made by the councillors at a meeting we held with them including better facilities from the Graiguecullen end of the town & the idea of using the fire station as a drop off point for the train station wasn’t satisfactory from the members point of view.”
It looks as if they are looking at acquiring land or improving access from the far side of the river bridge in Carlow Town.”
