Diversions in place as long-awaited flood relief work starts in Carlow

As of this morning drivers on the N81 Tullow to Rathvilly Road in Carlow will have to add some time onto their journeys.
Long-awaited flood relief works are beginning at a junction of that road called McGrath’s Cross, where it intersects with the Carlow to Hacketstown Road.
Between now and next Friday (15th Sept) all traffic heading in the Carlow or Tullow direction there will have to take a diversion of just over a kilometre.
Speaking to KCLR News, local councillor Brian O’Donoghue says where the works are being carried out is particularly treacherous in bad weather.
