Over €418,000 has been announced for Carlow and Kilkennys County Councils for taking in charge of housing estates.
Kilkenny is getting €229,000 while Carlow gets €189,000.
9 housing estates in Kilkenny have been given funding which will help the council get the estate ready to be taken in charge.
The estates there are The Weir, Rose Hill court, Lintown Hall, Hazelbrook, Cooleigh, College Square, Chapelgate, Briar Wood and Aylesbury Belmont.
In Carlow, 8 developments have been approved, they are Academy Court, Ballydarton News, Loch Abhainn, Moyacomb Meadow, Phelim wood, Rath Felim, Rathsillan and The Meadows.
The money helps councils to finish off elements of an estate including public lighting, footpaths and water services.
