€50,000 cash, drugs and designer branded watches, bags and trainers seized by Gardaí in Kilkenny sting

A number of individuals are in garda custody locally following seizures made under Operation Tara. 

€50,000 in cash, a large quantity of drugs and a range of items, including Rolex watches, Louis Vuitton bags and trainers were all gathered in searches which were carried out yesterday across Kilkenny by Gardaí from the Drugs & Detective units.

Their aim was to disrupt the sale and supply of illegal drugs and bring those responsible before the courts while taking hold of any cash and/or luxury items deemed to be proceeds of crime.

A garda spokesperson in a social media post stated; “In the long run, crime doesn’t pay and those that prosper in the short run spend more time looking over their shoulder. Time is up.”
