The funeral of Elisha Gault will take place in Kilkenny this morning.
The 14-year-old went missing from her home in Carrick-on-Suir on St Patrick’s Day and, after an eight-day search, her body was recovered from the River Suir on Sunday.
Her funeral mass will take place at 11 o’clock in Piltown in South Kilkenny, where she had lived for a time.
She will be laid to rest afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
In a post on Facebook, her mother, Gráinne, has invited people to throw a white flower off Dillon Bridge into the river before the mass today.
