Gowran will soon be home to four critically endangered turtles.
Director of the National Reptile Zoo there, James Hennessy, has returned from London Zoo with the Roti Island Snake Neck Turtles.
The species only occurs in an area of just 70 square kilometres on the small Indonesian island of Roti.
The Reptile Zoo will house the turtles at their Last World Exhibit in Funtasia, Drogheda for the summer before being brought to their new permanent home in Gowran.
