ESB networks criticised by Carlow councillors for lack of public lighting

ESB Networks is being criticised for the lack of public lighting in Carlow town.

The message from Carlow County Council’s monthly meeting this week is the service is “not good enough”.

Councillors highlighted the number of lights that are out of order throughout the county and the long delays to repair them.

Senior engineer Liam Fitzgerald said ESB had undertaken to provide a better service.

Cllr Fintan Phelan told the meeting that the New Oak railway bridge is one black spot for pedestrians.
