Exciting times ahead for town on Kilkenny Carlow border

Providing more homes above commercial outlets is key for the survival of rural areas it seems.

Callan Thomastown councillors at their monthly meeting last evening had a briefing on the Graignamanagh Town Centre First Plan (more on that here) for which a health check’s been carried out and a number of priorities established – including a bid to accommodate people on floors over shops and other businesses.

Cllr Deirdre Cullen would like to see this rolled out in every town & village and outlined her views on that and other aspects of the potential proposals to KCLR News’ Edwina Grace;
