An extension of the excise cuts on fuel’s to be approved by Cabinet.
Due to expire at the end of July, it seems the measures will continue to the 1st of September – it means motorists will continue to benefit from the 32 cent a litre reduction to diesel and 27 cent on petrol for another month.
Speaking on his way into this morning’s meeting, Tánaiste Simon Harris pledged to bring clarity to the situation;
Kevin McPartlan, CEO of Fuels for Ireland, says prices should keep coming down at the pumps while IFA President, Laois based Francie Gorman, believes farmers won’t see too much of a difference and would have preferred to see the Carbon tax tackled.
