The first ever female Chief Executive of Kilkenny County Council is settling into her new office today.
Collette Byrne joins the local authority, coming from Offaly County Council.

She was formally ratified by the Kilkenny councillors just last month.
Speaking to KCLR news this morning as she started out in her new role Collette said she is looking forward to the challenges ahead.
