Karrie (O’Sullivan to give you her full name) is, quite simply, one of the finest voices I have ever encountered in Studio 2. She combines this with fine material and her latest album “Perpetual Motion” is on my lists of great Irish albums of the year. “Taste” is the byword and her songs will have both lyrical and musical appeal to anyone who enjoys great artists in full control. The album is a fine follow up and it seems as if people are starting to take notice. This is simply no more than she deserves and hopefully 2016 is the year when things take off.
She’s accompanied on this Studio 2 Session by Jimmy Smyth, a man synonymous with taste himself, being one of Ireland’s finest guitarists. His playing here is a perfect complement to Karrie’s wonderfully affecting voice.
You can get “Perpetual Motion” in all fine music shops and via her website
