The full demolition of what’s been called an eyesore on the Kilkenny / Wexford border has been given the go-ahead.
Some of the buildings at the Albatros Site at Raheen had been demolished towards the end of last year but now Kilkenny County Council have given permission for the rest of it to be leveled.
Almost three years ago, the company who owns the former fertiliser plant had spent in the region of a million euro removing asbestos from it but nothing had been done since then.
Speaking to KCLR News, South Kilkenny Councillor Fidelis Doherty says it’s to be discussed at their next district meeting.
