Over €7,000 is being granted to older people’s groups in Kilkenny, while almost €5,000 is going to Carlow.
The funding has been announced as part of the Go For Life National Grants Scheme.
The grants are aimed at improving the health and well-being of older people across the country by providing them with opportunities to take part in physical activity and sport.
Amongst the 24 Kilkenny groups benefiting are the various local ICAs, Kilfane Handball Club, Stoneyford Active Retirement and the Kilkenny branch of Multiple Sclerosis Ireland.
While in Carlow, along with the ICA groups, the Short Mat Bowls Club, St John’s Caring Centre and Tullow Men’s Shed are all getting a slice of the funding.
