The Garda Report which recommends the reopening of the Garda Station in Leighlinbridge has been published by the Government.
In the report, the Regional Assistant Commissioners recommend the reopening of the station, out of three available in the South East, because of the increase in population, its proximity to the M9 motorway, and also vulnerability to mobile criminals.
The report indicated that further analysis is also awaited before a final decision is made.
The Garda Report was published yesterday by the Government after sustained criticism about the reopening of the Stepaside Garda Station in Dublin.
