Gardaí urge locals to be cautious about door-to-door surveys

Be wary of people calling to your home saying they’re carrying out surveys.

That’s the message from Kilkenny Gardaí after a house was burgled in the Avenue, Weir View, Castlecomer Road last Saturday.

Sometime between 3.30 and 6.30 in the afternoon, the patio door of the house was smashed and the house was ransacked.

Gardaí say they think the culprits might have been spooked when the next door neighbours returned home at about 4.30 because all they made off with was a Fifa 2017 playstation game.

However, Garda Andy Neill told KCLR the house may not have been randomly targeted as the owners say a person saying they were carrying out a survey had called to the house shortly before it happened.
