Gardai warn of fuel theft risk

Local Gardai are asking us to be vigilant about diesel and home heating fuel being stolen.

It follows a robbery in Gowran last week where 300 litres of diesel was siphoned from the tank of a lorry in the Rockfield area between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

Gardai say it would have taken a while to do and if you saw  anything you’re asked to contact them.

Garda Andy Neill says to report anyone trying to sell you fuel that’s not from a legitimate fuel company.
