People who live along the River Duiske need to be included in any water quality plans.
So says the Community Water Officer for this region, Ann Phelan, as a public meeting has been organised for Graiguenamanagh this evening – details here.
Locals who attend will hear about the water quality issues in the river and what work scientists will be doing to tackle them.
Speaking to KCLR News, Ann says it’s important people share their own view as well. She says “The Duiske river is a priority area for action. What will be happening in the Duiske River then will be the catchment assessment teams will be walking the river to identify causes of water quality deterioration & identify action that will go to improve the water quality”.
