Head of Islamic community in Kilkenny hopes new centre will bring immense benefits

Permission is being sought for a new mosque in the city

The head of Kilkenny’s Islamic community says a new religious and cultural centre for the city would be an “exciting development” with “immense benefits”.

Planning’s gone in for a large centre which would include a mosque, a community hall, a library, a conference and banqueting facility and a shop among other features.

Local Imam, Ibrahim Ndure has told KCLR News he hopes the café they also have planned will attract people from all religions to come and get to know them.
