The Kilkenny based Heritage Council has launched a new scheme to encourage farmers to conserve traditional farm buildings.
Grants of will be offered for approved conservation works to out buildings and associated works such as historic yard surfaces, walls and gates.

GLAS farmers can apply for a grant of between €4,000 and €25,000.
The Heritage Council says the traditional farm buildings make a significant contribution to the enhancement of our countryside.

Applications close at 5pm on Friday 18th November.
