Hometown premiere for ‘The Breadwinner’ as curtain falls on inaugural animation festival for Kilkenny
The very first 'Kilkenny Animated' was a huge success say organisers.

A number of artists have already committed to taking part in next year’s Kilkenny Animated, just as the first ever festival has come to a close.
It all finished up last night with a special screening of Cartoon Saloon’s latest film, The Breadwinner, which is Oscars-bound this coming weekend.
It’s estimated thousands of people visited the city over the duration of the festival.
Producer, Naoise Nunn, has told KCLR News, starting a new festival is always a risk but this was one that he feels has paid off.
He said the international reputation of Cartoon Saloon and their third Oscar nomination meant the timing was good.
