The average price of a three-bed semi nationally has risen above €200,000 for the first time since the property crash.
While Carlow and Kilkenny prices are lower than the average, house prices have started to climb again.
In Carlow town, a three-bed semi is still going for as little as €75,000, however, the average price is around €150,000. In Kilkenny, the same house will go for closer to €165,000.
Meanwhile, the lack of properties available to rent in Carlow is contributing to the homelessness crisis there.
