Inquiry into “potential rigging” in school transport contracts in Leinster and Munster

An inquiry’s been launched into ‘potential rigging’ in school-transport scheme contracts in Leinster & Munster.

It relates to the procurement of publicly-funded transport services in parts of both provinces and 20 searches have already been carried out in Kilkenny, Waterford, Tipperary & Limerick

The CCPC says it opened its investigation in 2016 following a detailed examination of a complaint it received  and applied then to local District Courts for the search warrants to gather evidence.

It says the investigation is ongoing and it encourages any individual who has evidence to come forward and contact them on a dedicated confidential helpline 086 677 2062.
