Introduction of a second level of child benefit for those most in need ruled out of Budget 2027

The suggestion of a second level of child benefit for those most in need, will  not be happening in the next budget.

It’s been recommended by the ESRI as a way to cut child poverty, however its been ruled out by Social Protection Minister Dara Calleary.

Stephen Moffat, from the children’s charity Barnardos says its a blow for those on the lowest incomes.
