Investigations underway into two separate crashes in Carlow and Kilkenny

Investigations are underway into two separate crashes locally last evening.

One just after 5:30pm on the N76 Callan Kilkenny Road at Shellumsrath/Goslingstown saw the route blocked for a time, however Gardai say just material damage was reported.

But an earlier three-vehicle one in county Carlow at approx 1:30pm has been described as a ‘serious injury’ collision with the stretch closed until lunchtime today (Wednesday, 3rd June).

Two people were taken to St Luke’s General Hospital in Kilkenny – one person’s understood to be in a critical condition, the other was brought in as a precaution.
