Irish premiere of Cartoon Saloon’s ‘The Breadwinner’ taking place this evening

The Irish premiere of Kilkenny animation company, Cartoon Saloon’s latest Oscar-nominated film takes place this evening.

The Breadwinner is being screened in Dublin tonight ahead of it’s already sold-out Kilkenny premiere at the inaugural Kilkenny Animated Festival this Sunday.

The festival gets underway tomorrow with cartoonists and illustrators arriving in the city from this evening.

Meanwhile, the film starring Carlow’s Saoirse Ronan, Ladybird, hits Irish cinemas tomorrow.

The 23-year-old is up for her third Oscar thanks to her performance in that.
