There have been jubilant scenes at Dublin Airport this week as the first group of soldiers landed home from Lebanon.
It’s as 25 troops from the Carlow and Kilkenny area are among those set to travel in three groups from this month.
Overnight six people, including three paramedics, have been killed in strikes in southern Lebanon according to state media there.
37 more have reportedly been injured in the district of Tyre.
The attacks came hours after a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon was extended for a further 45 days.
The Israeli military hasn’t commented.
