Communions and Confirmations planned for July in Carlow and Kilkenny will now not go ahead.
It follows a confirmation from An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar that such events planned for after 5th July would now not take place.
A statement to KCLR News from the Diocese of Ossory says “The clear recommendation from Government is that the celebrations of the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation be, for now, postponed. Taking this advice Bishop Denis is, therefore, asking that no celebration of these Sacraments be planned for July. He will, as the situation allows, continually review this advice later in the summer”.
