The KCLR McCalmont Cup final between old rivals Freebooters and Evergreen has been moved to an earlier Kick-Off time this Saturday in Derdimus.
The game will now start at 2pm, following requests from both clubs due to the clash later that evening with the Champions League final.
It sets the stage for a huge finale, with both teams arriving in impressive form after dominant runs to the decider.
Freebooters have yet to concede a goal in the competition. They opened their campaign with a 4-0 win over Thomastown before putting six past Stoneyford United B. A 5-0 victory over Callan United followed, before they edged past Fort Rangers 1-0 in the semi-finals.
Premier Division champions Evergreen have also been free-scoring on their route to the final. They started with a 5-1 win over Stoneyford United before besting Deen Celtic 6-0.
They then knocked out defending champions Bridge United with another emphatic 5-0 victory, before staging a dramatic comeback against Ormonde Villa in the semi-finals to win 3-2.
With silverware on the line and local bragging rights at stake, another chapter will be added to one of the area’s biggest rivalries this Saturday afternoon in Derdimus.
