An attempted robbery of a pub in Kilamery on Sunday may be connected to a crime spree in the Carrick-on-Suir, Fethard and Rathcormac areas over the weekend.
Someone broke into the The Auld House bar at half past six in the morning and tried to steal from the cash register.
A stolen red peugot van was left in the car park and it’s thought the thieves escaped in a different car after the alarm went off.
Two men were later arrested in relation to another offence but may be connected.
Sgt Barry Smith says Gardai in Callan are looking for anyone who might have seen something to get in touch.
