A Kildare man who claims to have been bitten by a false widow spider in Kilkenny, has shared a video of his injuries online.
The filmmaker from Maynooth says he was working on an outdoor shoot about 15 kilometres away from the city.
The man says he was walking and examining his film location when he noticed some spider web threads on his jacket – and he then realised he had been bitten.
He has shared the video with independent.ie showing his allergic reaction to the bite – which he says came from a false widow spider.
Meanwhile, a spider expert has told them that the false widow prefers to be outside, and their bite is not fatal.
