Kilkenny-based doctor to be honoured by French Government today

It’s an historic day for one Kilkenny-based doctor today as she receives a top honour from the French government.

Kilkenny Castle will host the ceremony where Dr Therese White will receive a special knighthood from the French Ambassador to Ireland.

The ‘Distinction de Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques’ is given to honour those who actively promote French culture both in France and abroad.

Dr White, who’s originally from Poland, is  currently the President of Kilkenny’s Alliance Francaise.
