A young Kilkenny boy is recovering in hospital after finally undergoing vital surgery for a serious curve in his spine.
Tommy Long, who is only six, has now had six operations in total in an effort to relieve some of the issues caused by his severe scoliosis.
This time he’s had two vertebrae removed to shorten his spine and allow for a rod to be inserted to help straighten it but his mother Michelle says it probably wouldn’t have been necessary if there hadn’t been such a delay since his last procedure.
She told KCLR Live today he is progressing well now but faces a long road to recovery.
