Kilkenny commercial rates increase is going to put businesses under further pressure says Chamber CEO

”Businesses are already under pressure and this only adds to it further”.

That’s the opinion of John Hurley CEO of Kilkenny Chamber.

It follows the County Council’s decision to increase the commercial rates by 4% for 2025.

This would mean a demand of about €3,000 thousand euro a year on a business, up approx €36.

Mr Hurley told KCLR News’ Angela Doyle Stuart there’s already pressure with cost of living, heating and this causes more concern.
