Kilkenny Councillor says new shop fronts in the city should have to meet certain standards

There should be a minimum standard that shop fronts have to reach in Kilkenny City.
That’s according to Kilkenny Councillor David Fitzgerald who says that the increasing number of plastic signs above premises is bringing down the overall look of the city – especially for visitors.
He’s bringing a motion before the Municipal District meeting tomorrow to try and put a policy in place whereby the traditional shop fronts left in Kilkenny can be protected and new signs have to meet certain standards.
Speaking to KCLR News this morning, Councillor Fitzgerald says this is important to the city.
