Kilkenny County Council called on to review policies in support of those at risk of domestic violence

Kilkenny County Council is to review its policies in support of women and their families who are at risk of or are suffering from domestic violence.

A motion calling for this review was tabled at the Council’s May meeting by Councillors Pat Fitzpatrick and Seán Ó hArgáin, to ensure the local authority’s policies align with the National Domestic Sexual and Gender-Based violence strategy.

Councillor Ó hArgáin told KCLR News’ Dermot Keyes that he and Cllr Fitzpatrick had consulted with local agencies prior to tabling their motion;
