Kilkenny family trying to raise funds to get their son, Jordan, talking

A local family is looking for your help to get their son talking.

15-year-old Jordan from Kilkenny City has a range of complex medical needs which means he’s both a full-time wheelchair user, needing round-the-clock care and he’s also unable to speak.

His parents were told that he would likely never be able to communicate with them.

However, by chance, last month an eye-gaze communication aid was trialled on Jordan and it worked.

His friends and family are now looking to buy one of these machines for him, which costs over €5,000 – and a GoFundMe page has been set up to that end.

Speaking to KCLR Live today, family friend, Sharon says this device would make a huge difference.
