Kilkenny Garda Station closed on Saturday night after delivery of suspect device found nearby

Kilkenny Garda Station was closed for a time on Saturday night after a person entered the public office of Kilkenny Garda Station with a suspect device found at a nearby location.

The premises was shut down and a cordon put in place while the Irish Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal attended and the device was made safe.

It will now be sent for technical examination.

No further information is as yet available and the station’s since reopened.
