Kilkenny Gardaí investigating after someone drove through field of cattle killing two

Gardaí says they’re treating as “extremely serious” an incident in Kilkenny where cattle were killed by a driver who deliberately drove through a field of them.

It happened in the townland of Cannafahy, Callan overnight last Thursday into Friday.

A car drove into a field of cattle, killing one and injuring another so severely that it had to be put down.

A lot of the rest of the herd escaped out onto the road.

Sergeant Peter McConnon says they’re treating this as a case of animal cruelty and are appealing for witnesses.
