Kilkenny goes green for St Patrick’s Festival

Kilkenny In Green kicked off last night as part of the local St Patrick’s Festival.

Statue of St Patrick on grounds of St Mary’s Cathedral in Kilkenny City, a gift from the priests of Kilkenny to Bishop Brownrigg to mark his silver jubilee as bishop here.

Prominent buildings across the county lighting up in the national colour.

Many churches in the city and parts of the county as well as the courthouse and Kilkenny Castle are among those bathed in colour.

While in the county, bridges, halls and other structures are in the emerald hue.
