Kilkenny hurling legend says he is honoured to be awarded Freedom of the city

Kilkenny Hurling legend Eddie Keher says he is overwhelmed to be awarded the Freedom of Kilkenny City.

The Inistioge man was nominated by the Mayor of Kilkenny Michael Doyle last week and the vote taken by members of the Municipal District was a unanimous one.

The ceremony itself will happen early in the New Year and Eddie says he’s looking forward to it describing it as a huge honour which came totally out of the blue for him.

The honour has been conferred previously on Kilkenny hurling manager Brian Cody.
