Kilkenny is getting its very own Greenway

A stretch along the old railway line is being developed between Ferrybank and New Ross

Kilkenny is now getting its very own Greenway.

A change of name has been proposed for the stretch being developed along the old railway line between Ferrybank and New Ross

It was originally set to be named Waterford-New Ross Greenway but will now be known as the Kilkenny-New Ross Greenway.

South Kilkenny Councillor Melissa O’Neill who proposed the name change at this week’s County Council meeting says the original name made no sense because it was starting out in Ferrybank anyway.

She says its fantastic that Kilkenny is getting its own facility after the success of the Waterford Greenway.
