Kilkenny publican calls for all parties to support legislation needed to allow indoor hospitality

A Kilkenny publican has called for all political parties to get behind what’s needed for the return of indoor hospitality.

The Government is looking to pass legislation in the next week that would allow indoor dining but only for vaccinated people and those recovered from Covid.

Gerry Rafter of Rafter Dempsey’s in Kilkenny city is the local PRO with the Vintners Federation.

He’s been telling KCLR news it’s not ideal but he says action is needed now before the summer is over.

He’s called on the Government is to “stop playing political football with it, lets have all party support and get that legislation through ASAP”
