Kilkenny Sergeant honoured at AGSI conference in Carlow
Gary Gordon has been recognised by his colleagues for his work with Special Olympics
It’s the final day of the AGSI (Association of Garda Sergeants & Inspectors) conference in Carlow.
Any outstanding motions will be debated today.
Delegates from right around the country have been attending the event in Mount Wolseley in Tullow including some local members of the force.
Kilkenny based Sergeant Gary Gordon was given a special honour at last nights banquet.
He was presented with the AGSI National Excellence Award for his work with Special Olympics. He’s involved in the committee which organises the Law Enforcement Torch run – a joint initiative between Gardaí and the PSNI which raises funds and awareness for Special Olympics Ireland.
Sergeant Gordon works with the Community Policing Unit in Kilkenny.
