Kilkennys Everard finishes 2nd in Belgium

Ciara Everard finished 2nd in her 800 metres race in Ghent in Belgium on Saturday despite slipping into the water of a frozen lake in her warm-up.

The UCD Masters student who acheived the qualifying time for the European Indoors last weekend ran a time of 2.04.81 seconds as she continues her preparations ahead of the European Indoors in Prague in early March.
