It’s the last day of the Kilkenny Lions Christmas Hamper Appeal radio auction.
The campaign’s been hailed a huge success so far but there’s still time to add to that.
Bids on a host of lots are being taken on the hotline 056 77 96 223 on KCLR Breakfast, with The Afternoon Crew and on The Home Run while The Farm Show special will wind it all down this evening.
Lion Eddie Holohan says the final push is on, telling KCLR News; “After two very busy days we’re heading into our third day this morning and we have about 65 items for sale in the general auction, the support has been absolutely tremendous over the last two days and looking forward to the same again today”.
“You literally could do your Christmas shopping here today, there’s a varied range of items, but the end result is that the money goes out through the various charities that are supporting the needy around the city and county and at a rough guess we’re well in excess of 600 family units that we service, now we don’t have direct involvement with any of the end users themselves but that’s what the service people tell us”.
