Level Crossing failure at Leighlinbridge causes rail delays

Hundreds of passengers were left waiting on platforms at Carlow Train Station, and other stations on the Waterford Dublin route this morning as a failed level crossing at Leighlinbridge caused huge delays.
The 6.00am train from Waterford was due in Carlow at 7.03am but had been unable to leave Bagenalstown.
It eventually arrived in Carlow just before 8.00am.
Irish Rail have said that their trains on that line are now running about 40 minutes behind schedule.
