“Nonsensical, immoral ,madness” is how a HSE memo is being described.
It said that nurses could remove patients from beds “as trespassers” using minimum force in order to free up acute beds for patients who need them.
It was written by the HSE’s legal advisors and was issued to their Director of Acute Hospitals last month ahead of the winter flu season.
Speaking to KCLR today, General Secretary of the INMO and Kilkenny man, Liam Doran says he wants to assure people that this memo will not be engaged by nurses.
Meanwhile, local former nurse, Mary Delaney has described the contents of the memo as absolutely crazy.
She told KCLR that the Health Service Executive needs to start taking responsibility for their actions.
