Local farmers have joined with their counterparts across the country in blockading the Department of Agriculture in Dublin this afternoon in protest against falling beef prices.
Up to 90 farmers are protesting against what they say is the inaction of Minister Simon Coveney at a time of falling beef prices.
The protesters have built a hay barricade outside the Department and say they’ll stay there until they get a response from the Minister.
John Bambrick, the Kilkenny IFA Chairman is there and says there’s too much supply in the country at the moment and it’s driving the price down.
