A local TD says she’s genuinely worried about the future of Visual Carlow.
The facility recently sought €90,000 from the county council to help it meet a shortfall in funding and to meet increasing operational costs.
And it’s not the first time it’s needed financial assistance.
Fianna Fáil’s Jennifer Murnane O’Connor raised the issue in the Dáil last night asking if funding from the Arts Council for the gallery there could be extended to its in-house theatre.
Deputy Jennifer Murnane O’Connor praised the incredible amenity, one of Ireland’s leading arts spaces, which she said people are so proud of locally but she says it lacks sufficient funding.
