Another general election is likely to happen sooner than autumn of 2018, according to John Paul Phelan.
The local TD was speaking as the latest polls show mounting support for Leo Varadkar to take over the leadership of Fine Gael.
Taoiseach Enda Kenny has already said he won’t be leading the party into the next elections and Deputy Phelan believes that will happen in less than two years time.
Speaking to KCLR News, Deputy Phelan says he’s not decided yet whether he would like to see Leo Varadkar or Simon Coveney take over.
